Botox© InjectionsBotulinum Toxin type A is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It has been used for a wide variety of medical purposes and for some time for cosmetic medical purposes. It acts at the junction of where the nerves supply the facial muscles, where it reversibly relaxes these muscles.
The facial muscles which form expressions result in wrinkling of the skin over time, and when Botulinum toxin is targeted to these muscles, the wrinkles are visibly softened. In addition, as the skin is not being creased repeatedly in the same way, further development of wrinkles tends to be reduced with continued treatment.
Derma FillersDermal fillers are used to effectively soften and fill lines and wrinkles in the lower face, creating a smooth natural result. In addition to physically filling the wrinkle, the hyaluronic acid also encourages collagen growth and attracts water so improving the hydration of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is also a powerful antioxidant.
Dr Osborne is now holding regular clinics at Lincoln Laser Skincare; please contact us to arrange a consultation or appointment.
