How many treatments will I need?
In some cases, the lesion will gradually disappear altogether over a period of weeks. However, larger warts and most verrucas can be very deeply rooted and may require a number of sessions to remove.
How successful is the treatment?
Although there are alternative methods, laser treatment is the most successful in resolving warts and verrucas as they can accurately target the blood supply to the lesion without causing painful peripheral damage.
The pulsed dye laser has been used successfully for more than 20 years for vascular treatments, but because viruses are particularly good at finding new ways to avoid the immune system, some clients have reported that new lesions have appeared in different places. Consequently, we are not able to guarantee complete success, just eradication of individual warts and verrucas.
Does it hurt?
Clients do describe the treatment as being uncomfortable. To reduce any sensation you may feel we have a chilled air cooling system which is used before, during and after the laser treatment.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes. Very. Lasers have been used in medicine for over 30 years and there is no evidence to suggest that these lasers are anything but safe. As with any laser treatment at our clinic, every precaution is taken to ensure the safety of the client we have strict procedures in place governing the safe use of lasers and are inspected and registered with the Healthcare Commission.
